Hi Committee and Members,

Just an update as to where the club is at the moment…

    • Kelly McDermott is in the process of getting the calendar done and printed.
    • Doug Matheson has got the Rosedale Speedway website moving again.
    • I am hoping to have membership cards and passes back in the next week or 2 at the latest.
    • The tractor is at Colin Brown’s getting repairs. A huge thank you to Dennis Jones for his part in getting the tractor going. Thank you also to Cammy for the use of his truck to bring the tractor home.
    • Power connection is going ahead. We should have power to the canteen and maybe lap scorer box by the start of the season.
    • Polly is waiting on the power pole men to retrieve the 4 remaining poles from a very wet paddock. When they can access the poles we will require helpers please, to replace the poles and the pit end fencing wire and poles.
    • There are plans to put up gates on the compound where the vehicles are housed.
    • I think Tony Vuillermin and Polly will both have new push cars ready for this season.
    • We have some more water tanks for the pit area. Thank you to the Miller family Rd 28 for their efforts of getting the tanks home.
    • As I stated above we will require working bees coming into the race season. The pit toilets need doors hung, lap scorer box has work required to finish of its new face lift, general cleaning, weeding, mowing, etc will be required.
    • Also a thank you to Dave Cull and Sherritt’s Transport for the delivery of some concrete blocks.

      Practice Day - 17th October.
Car & driver must be licensed and registered but the practice day is for Rosedale club
members only. Memberships can be paid on the day.

Drivers - Please remember Medicals are required by all this season.

Drivers - Please be nice to me and get your paperwork in early.

One way communicators are available, please let me know ASAP if you require one, so that I can order the required amount we need. GMP still have race packages at $599.00.

Camp Day is still in the planning but is looking as though it’s going to fairly big. Polly has met with Ebony McClure - Shannons Insurance/Car Show extraordinaire. She is backing us all the way with ideas and contacts. We already have jumping castles organised. We still need face painters and temporary tattoo people. Also, if anyone knows how to work a fairy floss machine I could do with a couple of operators, thanks. The day is planned to start at 12 o’clock, with Ute, Bike, Rod, and maybe Transporters, Trucks etc; the more the merrier. Racing will start approx 3pm. This is a fun, promotional event, no club points will be awarded. We will have Camp families from all over not just the Gippsland area, as with the previous one we held. We are still looking for support in the way of sponsorship/donations, for the day. We will also require borrowed race gear for the families to use. If anyone has any other ideas for Camp Day please let me know

Committee Members if you feel there is a need for a committee meeting please let me know and we’ll organise one. But at this stage, I think we can plod along for a few more weeks without one, but I will leave that up to you guys.

If anyone has any queries about anything just let me know.

Well that’s it for now happy reading and get those cars organised.

      Regards,

      Wendi Perkins
